When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name. When you list books, we store the book details and your approximate location (city-level) to enable nearby search.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to provide the PBookShare service: connecting you with other readers nearby, facilitating book borrowing, and sending transactional notifications (e.g., borrow requests).
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties. Your email is never displayed publicly — only your display name and city are visible to other users.
4. Data Storage
Your data is stored securely on industry-standard cloud infrastructure in the United States. We use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) for all communications.
5. Cookies & Local Storage
We use two categories of cookies/storage:
- Essential: Local storage is used to keep you logged in and remember your preferences (theme, language). These are strictly necessary and are set immediately.
- Analytics (optional): We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used — which pages are visited, how users navigate, and general usage patterns. This only activates if you click "Accept all" on the cookie banner. If you click "Essential only", no analytics data is collected. Google Analytics may collect your IP address (anonymised), device type, and browser type. We do not use advertising cookies or share data with advertisers.
You can change your preference at any time by clearing your browser's local storage.
6. Your Rights
You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us. You can also export your book collection data from within the app.
7. Children's Privacy
PBookShare is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

We may update this policy periodically. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
